edible base 10 blocks
Starbursts (3-d cubes) = 1,000
Cheez-its (flats) = 100
Pretzel sticks (longs) = 10
skittles (cubes) = 1
We had a blast using our edible base 10 blocks to determine two different numbers. We practiced identifying our base 10 values and showing our work to determine each number. After we determined both numbers we compared the numbers using symbols (>,<,=) and words (greater than, less than, and equal to). Then it was time for the best part--eating our base 10 blocks!

This week's tech!
We used Today's Meet to chat about the similarities and differences between Fandango Stew and Stone Soup. Students shared their thoughts about the setting, characters, problems, and solutions in both stories. We ended our conversation by sharing our birthdates :) Check out our conversation by clicking here.
We also used Edmodo to complete writing assignments and to respond to reading this week. We are on our way to becoming Edmodo experts!
